What this means in real life

What it isn’t
Not the same as a side effect or adverse event. A clinical endpoint measures whether the treatment achieves its intended benefit; side effects are unwanted reactions that may occur alongside that benefit.
Commonly misused online
Often conflated with 'biomarkers' on social media. People use the terms interchangeably, but biomarkers are lab measurements (like cholesterol levels), while clinical endpoints are real-world health outcomes patients actually experience.
