What this means in real life

When you practice a musical instrument repeatedly, your brain produces more of this protein in regions controlling motor skills, helping those neural circuits strengthen and making the movements feel more automatic over time.

What it isn’t

It is not a vitamin or supplement you can simply take to boost intelligence. While some foods and exercise may modestly support its natural production, no pill directly replaces the protein's complex role in actual neural growth and repair.

Commonly misused online

Social media often claims it as a 'brain-boosting miracle' that fixes depression or dementia if you just exercise or meditate enough. Reality: it contributes to brain health, but is one factor among many; no single intervention is a cure.
