What this means in real life
A telescope with poor angular resolution might see two nearby stars as a single blurry dot, while a better telescope separates them into two distinct points of light—the difference is angular resolution.
What it isn’t
It is not the same as magnification or zoom. A telescope can magnify an image without improving angular resolution; if two stars are unresolvable, magnifying them just makes a bigger blur.
Commonly misused online
People often conflate angular resolution with image sharpness or pixel count. A high-megapixel camera doesn't automatically have better angular resolution—the lens optics and atmospheric seeing matter far more.
